Soheil Beiraghi’s ‘Cold Sweat’ has won nom at the 2019 Glasgow Film Festival in Scotland.
The Iranian director’s film, that has been described as “Thought-provoking, high skates drama”, will be competing with nine other short-listed titles to gain Audience Award from this year's edition of the Scottish film event.
‘Cold Sweat’ or as it is dubbed in French as ‘La Permission’ narrates the story of a fictional character being a young Athlete name Afrouz Ardestani, the captain of Iran women’s national futsal team. The team gets the chance to play at the finals of Asian championship league thanks to the goals Afrouz scores. On the day the team is to fly off to Malaysia to attend the match, Afrouz finds out her husband has travel-banned her. Now she needs his permission to travel overseas.
The film has so far attended a number of national international film events and has succeeded to bring home several awards too. 36th Fajr Film Festival awarded Sahar Dolatshahi the Best Actress in a Supporting Role and Amir Jadidi the Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Launched in 2005, the Glasgow Film Festival screens films of various genres from countries around the world in order to familiarize its audiences with international cinema.
The latest edition of the film event is scheduled for February 20- March 03, 2019 in UK.
